I will just go next door to meijer and walmart even if the selection is smaller.
As a former employee of Menards distribution center and a former customer after the fact... I can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt if any customer knew all the things I knew about Menards they would not shop there...But as far as my shopping experience it's just as bad as working for them.. I ordered a door and told them I want to pick it up at the Distribution Center which is way closer to my home. The employee told me that they would lose it at the Distribution Center and kept on about how I should have it shipped to the store so we ship it to the store... Guess what the store lost it. after 45 minutes of searching they finally found it and when I was going to load it on my vehicle, the door was dinged and scratched.. Not in pristine condition... Possibly the fact that it was not in a box could have a lot to do with it. If I would have picked it up at the DC it would not be in this condition I've seen how the doors are delivered to the DC and I've seen how the doors are shipped out in the trucks from the DC. Several people in the store have given me attitude when im only asking questions about product they seem to have little to no knowledge about as well as having little knowledge about their job instead of directing me to someone else who could help me they just walked away.. Crappy store. Crappy Distribution Center. Crappy employees. Will not be shopping here again I don't care if I have to pay several dollars more at Lowe's. I'll go there every time before going back to Menards for anything...
You have to go to the far back of the store to get a slip for 3 simple 2 x 4's , only to walk back to the front of the store pay for them and drive around the back of the store to pick them up. The lumber is of very poor quality.

The store is getting worse. Zero full sheets of osb in the store. No selection of 2x4s either. Who wants to walk around outside for these things? Also, missing several sizes of black shutter. It's Saturday in early fall. Get it together.
The reason why u get 2 stars is because the inconvenience of the garden area. With the garden entrance now closed, and no cashier out there it is a pain to just get flowers or garden stuff.
When we left went through gate security, Brenda was nice and helpful.
I had several different purchases, due to Christmas. Cashier was very friendly. Really love the savings I get.
